The world's first 1-megawatt electric car will take part in the race Pikes Peak





The world's first 1020 kW (1368 HP) racing electric car "eO PP03" developed by Latvian company Drive eO will take part in the annual competition Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the USA on June 28 of this year.

Drive eO – engineering company specializing in the design and manufacture of electric and hybrid car prototypes. Her eO PP03 is the result of years of development.

All-wheel drive electric car has a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and runs on six electric motors YASA-400. Peak power of this system is incredible 1020 kW, peak torque of 2160 Nm and a top speed of 260 kilometers per hour. The weight of the whole machine needs to be only 1200 pounds.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest automobile race in the United States. The race takes place on the challenging 20-kilometer track with 156 turns. It starts at the altitude of 2792 meters above sea level and ends at the level of 4301 meter pikes on a mountain in Colorado springs.

Currently eO PP03 is going in the Studio in Ogresgala Pagasts, near Riga, and his first test is scheduled for may of this year.
