Acura showed a concept electric supercar NSX on the basis of

Company Acura unveiled the all-electric version of the supercar NSX race for the annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb — international competitions in climbing the hill, which takes place on the mountain pikes Peak in Colorado (USA). The car will be called the NSX-Inspired EV Concept.

Recall that a road-going version of the NSX is equipped with Buturlinovsky DOHC V6 engine and a nine-gearbox with double clutch (DCT) and three electric motors. One of them has a capacity of 47 HP and assists the engine during sudden acceleration. Other electric motors located on the front axle transmit energy on the right and left wheel. The capacity of each unit is 36 HP

A concept version of the NSX is a unique example of all-wheel drive electric vehicle in which the technology is torque distribution on each wheel. Four electric motors and SH-AWD system enables you to achieve the excellent controllability.

By the way, the standard version of the NSX also uses the front electric motors for dynamic torque distribution. With the rear motor direct drive, located between the power unit and transmission, supports acceleration, braking and shifting.

During the race Pikes Peak International Hill Climb to pilot a conceptual electric car is Tetsuya Yamano, last year took part in the race on an electric prototype of the CR-Z. "We are working on improving the car for several weeks and we managed to make significant progress in this matter. We are honored to take part in Pikes Peak in this anniversary year, I am sure, this is a great event for all Motorsport fans," said Mr. Yamano. published
