Germany is considering a law banning GMOs
The German government considers a new law, according to which in Germany are strictly prohibited GMOs. To this solution, Germany pushed the European Parliament adopted a law that allows member States to restrict or prohibit the cultivation of GM crops. About it reports the edition ChemistryWorld.
Representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Germany believe that the ban of GMOs is scientifically unfounded and could have a negative impact on biotechnology research. Experts believe that GM crops increase yield, reduce the use of insecticides and increase farmers ' incomes.
Scientists say that modern technologies of molecular breeding are safe and grown GM crops do not pose any threat. Residents of Germany are, in turn, oppose GMOs.published
