Apple invests in energy of sea waves billion euros Bashny.Net

The IT industry giant electronics company, Apple together with renewable energy Agency of Ireland (SEAL) signed a Memorandum that in 2016 will create a common Fund that will allocate funds for research and development of energy conversion of sea waves into electricity.

In the new "green" project Apple is ready to invest € 1 million From the reserves Fund plan annually for four years to allocate 250 thousand euros.

It is expected that these funds will be used to test the first prototypes of installations for transformation of energy of sea waves (created in the framework of the grant SEAI), which are now in the sea polygon of Galway Bay.

Also, in early 2015, the company announced plans to invest 1.7 billion euros in the construction of two new data centers, one of which should appear near the small town of Athenry (County Galway, Republic of Ireland). After completion in 2017, the facility will be fully operational due to the "green" energy.

Apple's Vice President for environmental initiatives Lisa Jackson said the new data center in Ireland in the future will partly use clean energy from the sea waves. In addition, cupertinos the company invests in biogas fuel cells and is working with us to develop their own electric car, which is planned to be released by 2019.
