The first Russian metromobile
In the Institute of mechanics of Lomonosov Moscow state University conducted the study of wind energy devices, wave-type, including several original windmills developed by the Volgograd Professor S. D. Strekalov.

Scientists from Moscow state University decided to demonstrate a new wind turbine at the Green Tech contest in Taiwan. In 2013, the team of the Institute of mechanics has participated in it and won the prize for "Most original project". To participate in this competition should not simply present the "academic" project, but clearly, effectively show the scope of the invention.
I came up with the idea that the capacity of the new windmill you can clearly show if it means the machine will travel. Just as the design already has a wheel and it rotates towards the wind flow. So, you can try to make a machine that by using wind going against the wind, " says Klimina.This assumption was confirmed by calculations, and then created a test sample velomobile with the new windmill as the only engine. When testing in the wind tunnel of the Institute of mechanics it really went against the flow of the wind.
In the world there are several types of velomobiles capable of moving against the wind. "But ours differs from the others type of wind turbine, causing velomobile in motion", — says Klimina.
After successful testing, the team of the Institute of mechanics presented its metromobile on the Green Tech contest and won first prize. Now scientists are working on improved type of windmill.
According to scientists, the most practical application of metromobile is the transportation of goods in areas with regular winds, or in the river under the water against the current.
The most ambitious use of metromobile — to monitor the status of the pipeline: the device can move up through the pipeline due to the presence of wind flow in the pipe, it is thus possible to save on battery weight. published
