How the elephant became the “faithful dog” of his savior
An elephant named Moyo almost drowned while trying to cross a river that burst its banks after the flood. She was only a few days old at the time. People found a child abandoned by their relatives at the moment when she was already surrounded by a flock of hyenas. The elephant was sent to the Wildlife Rescue Center, and its founder Roxy Dankverts became a new mother for the orphan.
Now Moyo is a year and two months old, and she's chasing Roxy everywhere. “She recognizes my voice, smells my smell, and somehow always knows where I am,” Dankverts said. I have no idea how she does it!
Moyo grows up and her raids on the house become increasingly difficult to cope with.
