Solar power plant on the site of the landfill in Poland
Built in 2015, the solar power plant at the landfill in the Polish municipality Ustronie Marine (Ustronie Morskie) allows annual savings of almost 600,000 zlotys (about 150 000 euro). This amount can annually receive local authority in the district due to the sale of electricity.
For comparison, you can take the amount that this commune is spending annually on electricity - about 750 thousand zlotys. At the expense of funds that will not be spent on the purchase of a large part of the electricity, you can do without raising local taxes or finance following investment projects without a loan.
Solar power plant with capacity of 1 MW is built on the landfill - is the first investment in Poland in this format, as an example taken from Germany. The capacity of the new power grabs for 200 households with electricity.
Good idea the local community has been supported by the European Union funds (Rural Development Programme for 2007-2013). The total cost of the project - about 1, 75 million euros (70% of power is itself, and the rest was spent on reclamation of landfill defunct). For EU financed through 36% of the project cost.
Photovoltaic panels are placed in landfills area of 2 hectares, but the administration of the municipality does not exclude the possibility of increasing the output power of up to 3 MW. Invite here and scientists who could conduct their research. In the future, there is also planned to install a weather station.
