One of the oldest known cave paintings in the world, which depict horses, bison, and the soldiers are in the cave of El Castillo in Cantabria in northern Spain. Inside the cave is a hole so narrow that you need to walk through it on all fours. In the very same cave you can find a lot of pictures, which were executed at least 40 800 years.
They were made soon after people began migrating from Africa to Europe, where they met with Neanderthals. In fact, the age of the rock paintings suggests the possibility that they were made by Neanderthals, who at that time lived in the region, although this evidence is not conclusive.
