W + K London: Hondamentalizm - to live racing and a desire for perfection
Wieden + Kennedy London this week to launch the second part of the campaign «Hondamentalism», created seemingly for the Honda Civic Type R, but in fact carrying a much broader role: the image of Honda to the philosophy of life of people whose lives are inextricably linked with the machines and races.
In the first part of the campaign launched May 7 of this year, it was the desire of engineers to create something incredible, technically perfect and so, before which no one could conceive; how difficult it is to do. The video, shot by Mark Romanek was metaphorical and highly conceptual.
A four-line films, published a few days ago on the site Hondamentalism.com and video services, everything was much easier, but no less important. And also perfectly fits the concept: «Hondamentalism - this is the essence of Japanese cars - the unique spirit of the race and the endless pursuit of excellence, which saturates the whole company since its inception»
W + K rented a mini-movie about people addicted to racing and perfection.
The first film tells the story of Shelley Jory, who works in the shop for the bride, and all the free time is dedicated to motor racing lokah. She and her navigator Libby Keir in 2005 won the British Powerboat race in 28 men's teams.
Voiceover, usually for advertising the Honda-owned actor Garrison Keillor:
"In the racing class where all the boats are the same, all the engines are the same, and even all the props are the same, the only difference there is between you and the other driver - you».
The second movie about two men who are involved in racing lawnmowers in West Sussex: Chris Granville-Brown, doing this since 1973, and his son Simon Funnel.
Voiceover: «Why did you participate in races? Because you feel you can do it even better? Better than last season better than last weekend. But within you there is something that dreams osbovoditsya. And you're still not reached its peak ».
In the video «Ariel Atom» - is the name of one of the fastest cars in the world - withdrew its creator Simon Saunders and told him what he needs.
Voiceover: «It is necessary? So you really need it? This roof, the door is the windshield. From all that you have, use only what is needed ».
And in the last video «Racing Engineers» the viewer sees a team of young engineers who once was given carte blanche to create their own machines. They learned from the mistakes and success with only one purpose: to use this knowledge when they will be working in the racing team Honda.
Voiceover: «That young minds need to experience? They do it out of curiosity. Because they have no right and no wrong. Only new ways to solve problems ».
A week earlier prints were produced, which with the help of a curious graphic solution also told of these and other stories.
