In the periodic table there are two new elements: Flerov and Livermore
two elements of the periodic table with atomic numbers 114 and 116 received at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, decided to name Flerov and Livermore - the first was named in honor of the legendary Soviet nuclear physicist Georgi Flerov and Livermore is named in honor of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Lawrence - American partner laboratory in Dubna.
Elements proposed designation Fl and Lv, respectively. In the next five months, experts will have the opportunity to present their objections concerning the names and designations. This will start a series of formalities, which will end the official adoption of the Flerov and Livermore in the table. Opening of the 114th and 116th elements has been recognized only in June 2011.
Recall that in November last year, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry adopted the notation elements with the numbers 110 (Darmstadt), 111 (roentgenium) and 112 (Copernicium or Copernicus). They were designated Ds, Rg and Cn respectively. But the experiment on the synthesis of superheavy chemical element 119 could begin in 2013.
