Good Vladivostok

Most cool, as usual - a reaction inhabitants) Here's just one note, and a discussion of my post about bad Vladivostok. From fine of comments:

"The car is not here himself and furious and we have in the city almost every car and almost everyone can afford at least not an expensive car. In the crowded but not mad. And then let the blogger goes on smelly subway Doberan from one point to another city on the chaise all day, there is not a penny of money so at least in interenet vent their envy and decided to fool understand this. »

"Let them sit in their Moscow and more does not come here»

"Yes, in Moscow, in particular the territory of all stations bomzhatnik. Stalls burned debris on the ground floor. Look at the night and day Moscow greyness, cork, dirt. And in the darkness just colored lights. »

And so on. That is, people believe that if Moscow, in their opinion, something bad, their city can not do. I always very interesting, but if I lived in London or Amsterdam? What would then be written in the comments? "Let your London also cesspool?". It will be necessary to conceal the place of residence and publish anonymous reports.

Returning to the poor Vladivostok, I want to show a picture of the comments. It is clearly seen as the worse izmenils town for 50 years:

But today we have a good Vladivostok. What's good in the city?

Let's start with public transport - namely the tram.

Vladivostok tram would be the pride of Russia. It is the oldest tram system in the Asian part of the country. The construction of the tram, which was difficult to lack of funds, was completed in 1912. In October, it opened the first line. In those good times looked like Vladivostok:

Since then, the tram is constantly developing, by 1992, the park was 140 cars, tramways length of over 40 kilometers. This year can be considered the peak of the glory of the city tram, followed by the long-suffering tram rolled into the abyss. About the disaster reporting the bare facts: by 2008 the number of cars was reduced to 40 pieces.

What happened?

Tram fell victim to populist politicians and citizens-nihilists.

In 1994, Mayor Shards shortly before the elections to the local Duma abolished the fare. Many people are delighted, we voted for candidates close to the mayor of the Duma. As a result, the tram turned out to be unprofitable. And it is interesting that in 2002 the fee returned, and the flow of passengers immediately subsided. Apparently, people are accustomed to freeloading, prefer to walk, you pay the fare of 5 rubles.

In 2001, then-mayor has decided to conduct an experiment, to cancel some routes tram to see how it affects the situation on the roads. Officials concluded that the tram breaks down the roadway, creating vibrations that negatively affect the historic buildings, and provokes traffic jams.

Tram pressed in every way: the perpetual repairs organized and established work schedule from 5 am to 10 am (because at other times the tram creates traffic jams), and simply eliminated in order to create parking spaces and "reduce congestion».

In 2009, studies were conducted, showed that in 20 years, passenger trams fell almost 5 times.

It should be understood that all these years the tram tracks have not been repaired, and the cars themselves are already very old. Tram constantly broke down: since July 26, 2009, the tram coming down from the hill, the brakes failed, to turn it derailed, rammed two cars. 5 people were injured. Officials were quick to exploit the situation and closed on the same day the route.

The administration of the city residents often explains that the tram is unprofitable, and for maintaining it requires sacrificing the construction of kindergartens and other important institutions.

The State Duma elections of 2011, United Russia won in Vladivostok only 23, 36%. Most of the opposition in the Russian city!

In 2012, positive tendencies. The officials changed their minds and decided to restore some tram lines, as well as declared intention to update the carbs.

In general, the tram is still not completely died, despite the sabotage of the city authorities. I hope in vladivostoktsev will discourage him. I beg you all to send a link to this site to the mayor of Vladivostok. Let read.

01. While all sad. This tram stop. Wagons - a KTM-5, developed in

1971. Look at the condition of the rails.

02. The sad spectacle. But the tram can still be saved.

03. That if the municipality wants to make a comfortable city, of course.

04. Restore the tram is easy. At the heart of even the remains of the old track.

05. The situation is similar with the trolleybus. There are only 2 routes. But there is hope: the city is buying a new car.

06. So far, residents have to settle for buses.

07. and taxis.

08. Cyclists almost there. I met one who was riding in the middle of the road. The tracks are not. Prospects of development of the bicycle as a means of getting around the city are weak. Vladivostok is quite a relief town and there is not much to drive. One hope for the Chinese, who bring cheap electric bicycles.

09. Almost all of the good that is in Vladivostok, due to the APEC summit, passed here in 2012. By this significant event the city repaired and rebuilt. The most important thing - two beautiful bridge.
