Modio: children's app for designing toys to print on a 3D printer
Now there are several 3D printers "for all", which do not require any additional configuration or basic knowledge of materials science. In general, such printers are suitable for both children and adults (presumably, the children learn new devices for themselves faster than adults).
Well, as 3D printers are becoming more common and popular, that develops and software for them. A few days ago there was information about the new program to create a variety of meshes - soldiers, monsters, dolls of all kinds and sizes. The program is very easy to use, so that children will understand all of this very quickly.
Currently this program, Modio , is completely free, and "sharpened" under job tablet iPad. By default, given the usual model, the user can modify to your liking by adding or removing parts of the case, changing the size / texture / color figures, equip weapon models.
On the page of the application already has reviews where some users compare their results printed figures with figures of Hero Factory. Of course, the toys can do so large (or small) so far as the printer.
The creator of the application made free, as mentioned above. Earn the same author plans on particularly steep modelki loaded in the catalog of models (in the making) and their parts, which can be purchased for money. Well, if you do not want to buy - take and create their own "tin soldier".
In general, the idea is really quite interesting, and the application itself, we think, will be used not only for children but also adults (for example, the owners of toy stores). Well, the kids are just happy. In 90 of the 3D printer, such an application would give children everything they had :)
