25 apps that will simplify your life

The TED team has selected mobile apps that help increase productivity. In our small, fast-growing organization, everyone does several things every day. The apps we select help manage, manage, and manage tasks between writing code, writing, designing, and organizing full-scale events twice a year. In addition to the classic Instagram, Google Maps, Spotify, Uber, Seamless, we found more than a dozen really worthwhile apps that can be useful to you. (We’ve got an asterisk for those who have a free version.)

For all the occasions of Dark Sky

An app that shows the weather with amazing accuracy. Its interface looks something like this: "In 22 minutes, it will start to rain a little bit." It also has excellent weather maps that will make your friends consider you an expert in meteorology. "You're like a magician," says our technical director, Gavin Hall. If this app had been available in the 1600s, its owner would have been burned at the stake for witchcraft.

*Sunrise

The app is similar to Google’s calendar, but there are some important improvements. Offers shortcuts for events, adds weather forecasts and birthdays from Facebook. Many reminders are mixed into your daily calendar.

*KeyMe

TED Communications Manager Samantha Kelly was very excited when she downloaded the app. It helps to copy the keys and prevent hacking. You can scan your keys from their photo and then you have a digital copy. With it, you can get a key made for yourself at the KeyMe kiosk (five in New York) or by email. This will require fingerprints.

"I've tried a lot of puzzle apps, but Trello is a favorite," says social media editor Nadia Goodman. I like that it can be easily customized, change the color code and tidy up lists. I only complain that it doesn’t remind me when it’s time to do something.”

*nvALT

The app is popular among irritable guys because of the functionality of the simplified MultiMarkdown data markup language. Developer Joe Bartlett explains: I'm frivolous, quickly forgetting what I wrote down. I love nvALT for storing details that I usually fluently write down and forget.”

Todoist

Todoist has an app and a website that communicate with each other.
“I was looking for the perfect task management app,” says developer Will True. It is easy to throw everything into categories, projects, priorities and dates. It's not fashionable, but that's why I like it. In addition, it has a great programming interface that I can customize to my desires.”

Check.

The application tracks all your payments, monitors bank and credit card accounts. The main thing is that it tells you when there is a discrepancy between the two, so you can solve the problem. "It's better than the Mint program," says IT manager Francil Richards. I’m never late for payments with him.
