Chopper, cruiser, sport bike, scooter, classic, heavy motorcycle dregster, tourer, minibike ... - all types and classes of two-wheeled iron friends. Today we delve into the history and visit the world's largest motorcycle museum GDR. On an area of one thousand square meters of exposed more than 140 motorcycles, scooters and mopeds legendary East German marks.
The museum was opened in 2008 in Berlin, located in historic buildings under the tracks of the Berlin S-Bahn between Alexanderplatz and the Hackesche market.
In several rooms crammed exhibits Reichsmarks Simson, MZ, IWL, EMW, and some others.

In the 1940s, the former arms factory in Suhl (it. Suhl) originated factory producing motorcycles. Initially, this Soviet enterprise, combine several plants producing machines with the designation AWO («Avtovelo"). Since the fifties, after the transfer of ownership of the government of the GDR, motorcycles were produced under the brand Simson (it. Simson).

Rare exhibit Simson-Eskorte, produced for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the GDR. There were collected 30 of these motorcycles.

World-renowned motorcycles under the brand name MZ (it. Motorrad Zschopau) in the Saxon town of Zschopau began producing in 1956.

Motorcycles IWL (it. Industriewerke Ludwigsfelde) were produced in Ludwigsfelde, Brandenburg.

And this exhibit "Moscow M1A" is a copy of which the Soviet Union has created on the basis of the production of the German motorcycle DKW. The original was made in Germany from 1939 to 1944.
