Abstract: This is a very complicated story ... Because I resigned voluntarily and internally at the same time. A story that marked the beginning of this dismissal began long before it was signed. But it's an interesting story that shows how to construct is now Russia, Russian science and education. Therefore, I believe that I must tell her, at least, in order to bear witness to our time and the like. Unfortunately, this story will be referred to the Russian Orthodox Church, which, too, was drawn into the story. I will try very hard here to share issues of religion and secular issues ... I think this is important. But I apologize in advance to all those who consider that I have not got it.

This I know for certain from many sources.

Unfortunately, the church did not understand, what it is trying to draw the official ... Once again - and never with anyone I did not discuss the question of whether there is a God in heaven, and how he wants to pray. I hope that the Orthodox faithful will understand me - if a university will lay off employees only for the fact that they are requested to respect the laws of Russia, it would not benefit anyone. In any civilized country could be situations in which the employees of the university will try to dismiss because they are asked to verify the laws of the country. It's not a matter of belief or disbelief, it's a moral issue. This is a question that is impossible to break into someone's house and try to impose their beliefs by force against the will of the people living there.

I went to the temple in the MEPI ... I wanted to see how everything is done. Renovated basement, spacious enough ... They looked like a tour guide, when someone suddenly, for the first year, wanders into the far room of the museum. These women were sitting in the hallway, and volunteered to help me ... I said that I only came to see. All other areas of the temple were empty. Probably, it would come back during the service - I tried razobratyas when she must go, and learned that once a week (maybe two - now I do not remember) there comes a priest from another church. Honestly I do not really understand the meaning of "fuss" when coming to the temple to be found, even the priest. Though, probably, I do not understand these matters ...

Last fall, I was very sick ... For me, ran a series of hospital and I knew perfectly well that this "work" is not useful. I tried to deal with the promising devices, which are now preparing for a series of meteorological satellites. We discussed the interface of another device that must be installed on the ISS. However, stable development, I could not provide. After meeting with the boss, we agreed that I should think about how to proceed. It was the autumn of 2012. It was during my meditations Strikhanov Rector decided to open MEPI chair of theology ... For the time thinking I was taking a vacation because he was my unspent ... Coming from vacation, I wrote a letter of resignation on their own.



I did not look for opportunities to work remotely (although technically for the development of what I was doing such opportunities were). Unfortunately, from my point of view of my native university ended. The reason I said that is fired in a protest against the opening in the structure of MEPhI religious divisions. The personnel department looked at me with horror, and said that the document without a visa within the legal department will not miss, and offered to be rewritten. I did not rewrite, went to lawyers. To prove to them that I can write whatever I deem it necessary, they eventually agreed. Naturally my decision to leave has affected not only the department of theology, but also the prospect of treatment abroad, understanding the difficulties that I deliver to their leaders ... Yet in this bowl was the last straw, and that it is full. Maybe someone finds an escape from the position. For me - it's a slap leadership MEPI. Small, but what there is. Let them know that out of their university scientists dismissed because they employ priests. It's a process of substitution. Science and religion are difficult to live under the same roof, if not to put a natural historical process, and the desire of the rector earn political points. MEPI was established in 1942 as the Institute of ammunition. There has never been any theology, and this is not a tribute to the history of the department, and not a natural process - there is nothing here apppelirovat to Western universities ...

In 2011, I was called, as usual, on the day of open doors - to lure students, to convince them to enter the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute. I have done this for many years, and I did that quite sincerely. In 2011, I refused. This is not a rebellion, also is the defense that is dear to me. That is why I encourage people to sign this application - regardless of their religious beliefs. MEPI should teach nuclear physicists, not theologians. And it's not a question of religion, questions of faith or without Veria - it's a private matter of each person - it is a matter of common sense. This is an issue that concerns everyone.
