Causes of emigration Alexander Filippenko is a native Muscovite. He was born into a family of teachers, who soon after the birth of the heir decided to move to Almaty. There, the parents of the future actor had a good job, and he went to first grade.

Filippenko became interested in theatrical play while still a schoolboy. He often participated in school amateur contests, and also attended a drama club in the Kazakh Palace of Pioneers. It was there that Alexander was lucky to meet many Soviet actors. And already in the 10th grade, the guy began to work more closely with the famous director and actor Yuri Pomerantsev.

And although Alexander studied at a technical university, his love for the stage did not cease. He became involved in the KVN, where he was noticed by Albert Axelrod, one of the creators of the games and their first host. The man knew there was a nugget in front of him. Albert invited Filippenko to the theater studio at Lomonosov Moscow State University. And he agreed, of course.

However, Filippenko began to work in the role of a real actor only after two years as a senior engineer at the Institute of Geochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

In the Theater of Drama and Comedy on Taganka Filippenko worked for 6 years, in parallel receiving higher education at the B. V. Shchukin Theater School. At the same time, the actor made his film debut. Then he entered the troupe of the Evgeny Vakhtangov Academic Theatre, where he served for 20 years.

Alexander Georgievich starred in more than 100 films. One of the most striking roles of the actor is Azazello, the hero of the film adaptation of the novel “The Master and Margarita”. In addition, the artist recorded audio books and audio performances. He also directed the Mono-Duette-Trio Theatre for a while.

In 2014, the artist spoke out against the annexation of Crimea and Russia’s policy on the peninsula. And in 2020, Aleksandr Georgievich spoke in support of the Belarusian people, who tried to fight the dictatorial regime of Lukashenko.

When Russia treacherously invaded the territory of sovereign Ukraine in early 2022, Filippenko was shocked by what was happening. He protested by wearing a Ukrainian embroidered shirt and posting a photo on Facebook. After that incident, theatrical activity of the actor in Russia was in question.

The reasons for emigration are clear: Filippenko does not want to live in a country with such a government. The man moved to Lithuania and has no plans to return to his homeland.

Instagram / @aleander.filippenko Opinions of netizens divided. Some say Philippenko did the right thing. Abroad, he will be able to live according to conscience and not be afraid of persecution by the authorities. Others ask the logical question: where was the actor before?

I wonder what you think of Alexander Georgievich. Will he return home?
