Working hours of the tree

At first glance, these exquisite watches look like they were created by the best Swiss masters. But in fact, they did a humble carpenter, not a watchmaker from Switzerland.

Ukrainian Valery Danevych makes fully functioning watch almost entirely of wood, with the sole exception of a metal spring, necessary to bring the arrows to move.
Master's like kind of cabinet and from an early age engaged in wood carving, once he even made a 3-cm guitar using human hair instead of strings.

In 2005, despite the lack of preparation of a watchmaker, he began work on the functioning wooden wristwatches. Of course, Valery took time to determine what type of wood is the most suitable for the production of small parts, as well as to learn the basics of watchmaking. But three years later, he completed his first watch made of wood.
