Eight months later, the station is still practically in ruins. Many truck turned over under the onslaught of water, and have remained at the entrances to the plant. Everywhere gravel and broken bricks. Water covers vast areas once immaculate campus.
Tens of thousands of people who lived far away from the first power plant, will never be able to return home. And just as Hiroshima and Nagasaki became the embodiment of utter horror of nuclear weapons, Fukushima embodied the potential danger of nuclear power.
However, the situation is gradually improving, Japanese officials say. It took a long time to stabilize the power plant for the Saturday visits of journalists, including representatives of the Japanese and international media - including the agency «Associated Press».
