Pyongyang Metro

Travel to one of the most deep-seated subway in the world. In hundreds of feet underground capital of the DPRK is a network of cavernous rooms, decorated with stone pillars and a beautiful mosaic. This underground Phenyana- most ambitious public works project.

The metro is terrifying silence.
Metro stations exquisitely decorated, but they twilight reigns. People traveling to work, flick through the pages of newspapers, quietly playing patriotic music.

Most of the 16 stations of general use (a Korean subway there is a huge amount of secret used only by members of the Government, the paths) was built in 1970, but the most magnificent halls and -Puhung Yongvang were built in 1987. On the walls you can see the scenery made by skilled craftsmen.
