I will never forget the day when my friend Marina wrote in our Skype chat that she had started watching a new series about... Gay. "An, it's so addictive! I watch episode after episode and I can't stop!" - Marina was literally bursting with emotions, and she generously shared them, and to top it all off, she threw me a link to a site where you could watch movies without downloading. I have never cared about the blue theme. Not that I was an ardent opponent of non-standard relationships, but I was not interested in it. But, knowing Marina that she would not shake the air for no reason, I still reluctantly opened the link, turned on the first episode and... I'm gone.

I literally fell out of reality! From the very first shots, it became clear that I had never seen anything like this before. And when I saw HIM... I fell in love, once and for all. A long, devoted fan love. Meet Gale Morgan Harold III himself.

















Gale was born on July 10, 1969 in the southern United States, in the city of Dekatur in a fairly religious family. However, by the age of fifteen, he realized that the religious dogmas of the church were not for him. After graduating from school, young Harold entered the American University in Washington, where he received a sports scholarship thanks to the game of soccer (an analogue of European football), in which he made great progress. After graduating from university, Gale went to San Francisco, where he became seriously interested in photography and entered the School of Art. At that time in his life, he tried himself in various guises, including working as an auto mechanic for the Italian company Ducati. Since then, he has maintained a passion for Italian motorcycles.







However, Gale was beginning to wonder what he wanted to do seriously with his life. Then his girlfriend Susan Landau advised him to try his hand at acting. And in 1997, Gale left for Los Angeles, where he enthusiastically comprehended the intricacies of the acting profession in the famous theater workshop of Joan Shekel, whose services were in great demand in Hollywood.

His finest hour came in 2000, when the famous Showtime TV channel announced that it was looking for actors to star in the series "Queer as Folk" (for Russian-speaking viewers, the series is called "Close Friends") about the life of people of non-traditional sexual orientation in America. Candidates for all the main roles had already been approved, and only for the role of the main character, the self-confident, successful, defiantly sexual employee of the Pittsburgh advertising agency Brian Kinney, there was no one.

The executive producers of the series, Dan Lipman and Ron Cowan, were ready to tear their hair out, filming was due to begin on Monday, and by Friday evening, the actor had not yet been found. At that time, homophobia was rampant in Hollywood, and casting agencies literally boycotted this project. A sudden call from the casting director: "Get ready, he's here!" Lipman, recalling, "Gale walks into the studio, Ron and I look at him and can't believe our eyes – this is Brian Kinney in the flesh!" This is how Gail was during the filming of the series:

One of his most famous works is, of course, the role in the film "The Unseen" (The Unseen), in which all Gale's dramatic talent was manifested. He is incredibly organic in the image of an FSB agent in the series "Vanished", as well as in the role of Jackson Braddock in the sensational and very popular ABC series "Desperate Housewives" (Desperate Housewives)



In addition to filmmaking, Gail successfully works with the most famous theater stages in Los Angeles. The most striking, in my opinion, theatrical production with his participation is the play based on the play by the American playwright Tennessee Williams "Orpheus Descends into Hell", in which Gale played the role of the musician Val Xavier, beloved by women, but for whom the only life partner remains the guitar. The Los Angeles Times called Gale's performance genius!





One of the most recent works is the role of law professor Julian Parish in the series Hellcats. My friends and I meticulously peered at the episodes where Julian had an affair with Marty (in the photo a blonde with terrible makeup), we were jealous! At the moment, the filming of the mystical story Secret Circle is underway, in which Gale will play the role of a dangerous and mysterious sorcerer. In conclusion, I can say that this talented actor and just a sunny and charming person will surprise us more than once with his roles in cinema and on the theater stage. And next June, in the German city of Cologne, my gaylomaniac friends and I will attend a conference dedicated to a grand event: all the actors of the series "Close Friends" will get together to please their fans and communicate with them.
