Earthrise
In this stunning recording made by the Japanese space probe Kaguya, faraway land appears as a glowing blue sphere with white cap of Antarctica. Our planet is slowly comes into view on the background of impenetrable blackness of space above the lunar surface, which are clearly visible craters.
Running probe Kaguya («Kaguya"), named after the fairy-tale princess, after the moon, is the most significant project to study the moon with the American satellite Apollo, writes Times. Japanese probe was launched into space in mid-September 2007 and was on the lunar orbit (at an altitude of 100 km above the Earth's satellite) October 18, 2007.
