The fate of the Roman soldier Kvintiusa Dias (Michael Fassbender) is closely intertwined with the fate of the legendary Ninth Legion of the Roman, who arrived in Britain for the war against the Picts. But at the beginning of the campaign the legion suddenly trapped in the depths of the dark forest and practically ceased to exist. Several soldiers, survivors, led by Kvintiusom pulled out from captivity, and, having made an unsuccessful attempt to save the Legion commander General Virilusa (Dominic West), go to the mountains. Around the territory of others, strangers dense forests and rushing on the heels of a detachment of local tribes - the Picts, led a silent ruthless warrior Etain (Olga Kurylenko). Trying to survive in a hopeless struggle against the Romans understand that they must either fight or die. There is no third.

Brief History:
"Ninth Legion" was formed by Julius Caesar in 58 BC In 46 BC. e. Caesar dismisses Legion Russell of the veterans in Picenum (modern. Marche, Italy) and Istria. In 41 BC Octavian recreates anew "Ninth Legion," return to the service of Caesar's veterans. The film "Centurion» (Centurion) recreates one of the possible versions of the death of the Legion in the forests of Britain. This legion fate is still unknown.
