A year ago, it was hard to imagine that Joe Biden and Ukraine would be bound by such a relationship. Especially since the President of the United States will pay us a visit. But this year has changed a lot. And today, February 20, 2023, Joe Biden came to Kiev with an unexpected visit.

Editorial "Site" We know about the visit of the American President.

Since the morning, rumors have spread that important guests will come to Kiev. In Kiev noticed a large motorcade. Residents said unprecedented security measures had been taken. Many people thought Joe Biden was coming, but there was no official announcement.

However, journalists recognized Biden surrounded by escorts. Soon, the official Telegram channel of Volodymyr Zelensky wrote: Joseph Biden, welcome to Kiev. Your visit is an incredibly important show of support for all Ukrainians! The first photos also appeared.

Biden said he came to Kiev on the anniversary of the invasion to meet with President Zelensky and have a discussion about further support. As we approach the anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, I am in Kiev today to meet with President Zelensky and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

One year later, Kyiv stands. Ukraine stands. Democracy stands. America — and the world — stands with Ukraine.

The US president’s visit will be short-term. He will then travel to Poland to meet Andrzej Duda. But even that was enough time to announce a new aid package for Ukraine. “I am announcing another delivery of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-tank systems and air surveillance radars.” It is reported that this aid package will be $ 500 million.

Also, the President of America promised that this week will impose new sanctions against Russian citizens and companies that support the military component of the Russian Federation. Biden said support would continue.

GettyImages is a big event for us. After all, this is the first visit of a US president not only during the war, but in the last 15 years in principle. The last time George W. Bush visited Ukraine was in 2008. This is a sign of how strong the support is. We're grateful for that gesture! We hope that this visit will affect the situation at the front soon. What do you think of that?
