In this article, I will express my opinion on this issue and list the reasons why millennials are in no hurry to acquire dachas. And then, as they say, “think for yourself, decide for yourself whether to have or not to have.”

When it comes to the country, you often hear that there you can relax and breathe fresh air, independently grow natural products, children need it to improve their health, and in general - this is an excellent investment. But there is a downside to the coin...

1. Dacha is a holiday
   On his own. cottage It requires constant maintenance, even if it is new and built normally. You need to paint somewhere, lubricate somewhere. If you do nothing, you get a lot of problems over time. The land needs care, too. If you do not appear in the country, in a couple of months everything will grow weed. The lawn should be watered and mowed at least once every two weeks.
   
   
   
   If you want to have your own vegetables and greens, this is a daily job. “Rest” all day in the beds, and in the evening you fall dead, complaining of pressure and low back pain. Familiar painting? No wonder at the peak of the popularity of the series “Slave Isaura” dachas began to be called fazends. What is a fazenda? This is a Brazilian landowner’s estate where slaves grow agricultural products.
   
   
2. Kids need a dacha.
   My kids love going to the movies, McDonald’s, children’s shows, toy shops and scooters. The countryside is full of mosquitoes, frogs and (oh horror!) no Internet. So it turns out that the baby (not to mention teenagers) under all conceivable and unthinkable pretexts evades trips to the dacha.
   
   
   
3. Dacha is health.
   As long as health allows, the daily “country fitness”, of course, tiresome, but not critical. And for those who are older, it can cause health problems. Radiculitis, hypertension, back twisted, arms-legs swollen, head hurts ... That's so healthy!
   
   
   
   In spring, the encephalitic tick season begins. They say you need to mow grass regularly. A friend for the third summer spends cancer with a hood, rake or electrocution. But nothing helps, parasites regularly arrive from the weed around empty houses in the neighborhood.
   
   
4. Time.
   If all family members work and study, you will have to spend the weekend for a trip to the country. In the summer, this is almost every weekend. 5 days a week you work, then stand in traffic jams on the way to the country, then 2 days of weeding, loosening, watering, fertilizing ... When to live?
   
   
   
5. Finance.
   Experts estimate that for the money that is now needed to buy an average cottage, you can rent the same cottage from May to September from 12 to 20 years. And that's not all!
   
   
   
   For the cottage you need to pay taxes, fees and communal. You have to spend on maintenance, maintenance and repair: the roof has flowed, then the fence needs to be changed, then the house needs to be painted. To get to the country, you need to regularly spend money on gasoline. And the costs of seeds and fertilizer? It is probably easier to buy food at the store.
   
   
6. Freedom
   Millennials (those who entered adulthood after 2000) value mobility and convenience in everything, and buying a cottage binds us like an anchor. If you buy a house, there will be no travel. You will spend most of your weekends and holidays there. And the main thing in our lives is impressions, so the new generation prefers the sea and mountains to mosquitoes in the Moscow region.
   
   
   
   Many people go to the cottage to kebabs, but for me to go on vacation every time in the same place is boring. On vacation, you can go with a tent to the river or to a tourist base, to Karelia, the Urals, the Altai, the Caucasus. And not to be tied to one site.
