Mother-in-law commands to hang in each room a picture with flower girls of Paris, I support her idea

Paintings by French artists are my weakness. Every year, her mother-in-law gives one painting with a French flower girl for her birthday. In each room already hangs more than one copy of salon painting. “Happy Parisian women excite the imagination!” says her mother-in-law, and I cannot disagree with her, because it is really so beautiful.

It turns out that the author of my reproductions is a nineteenth-century French artist Louis Marie de Srive. And today's edition. "Site" I invite you, dear reader, to immerse yourself in the world of art and get acquainted with the life and work of it. French painter. Amazing splendor!

Paintings by French artists Charming Parisians, cozy lanes And of course, flowers and flower girls are the theme of De Srive's lifelong work. True, it was not always so, in the sense of the artist’s favorite themes, but he began to draw from an early age.

His paintings appeared in Paris salons when he was 13 years old. And this without a full-fledged special education, which, I want to note, this prodigy did not receive after. De Srive only attended the classes of several popular artists. His first works, exhibited in the gallery, "Dags and chrysanthemums" and "Violets and Spring Flowers" were recognized by many connoisseurs of art!

Already at the age of 17 for one of the works exhibited in the salon, Louis Marie de Srive received a bronze medal. His formation as a master came at a time when Baron Haussmann made Paris an absolutely unique city! Boulevards are broken on the streets, theaters, cafes, department stores, concert halls appear.

People are changing with the city, and women are changing very much. They have more rights, they begin to lead a more active lifestyle. Emile Zola’s book “Ladies’ Happiness” describes the time that Louis Marie de Srive captured for us.

De Srive was inspired by the new Paris, with its architecture and beautiful ladies. That's what made him famous. Over time, the artist was able to open his art studio. All his life he actively exhibited, received the gold medal of the Salon.

Then, however, a little scandalous: carried away by Orientalism, put on the main show of painting a canvas with two compromising girls. He was briefly fascinated by the subject of cars. De Srive was fascinated by their mechanical beauty, painting races and cars on the streets of Paris.

However, many connoisseurs of art did not recognize his passion, and after a while the artist again returned to his flower-girlsPortraits of Paris and its inhabitants.

Looking at his paintings, one involuntarily wonders: I wonder if there were actually so many flower girls in Paris in those years and they were like the pictures? Or did the artist embellish it?

In his paintings, as a true lover of Paris, I notice familiar places. These are mainly Concorde Square (Plaza de la Concorde) and Rivolli Street. Particularly attentive may notice that the flower girl in a striped sweater on Rivolli Street is depicted from different sides in several paintings.

Gentle flowers and flower-girl Against the background of the most luxurious and new places of the city, with and without buyers, the artist wrote until his old age, literally until he passed away to the other world. He passed away at the age of 80 in 1942.

Paris, illuminated by the sun, immersed in fog or dusk - this seemingly simple formula brilliantly produced by Louis Marie de Srive over and over, delighting and falling in love with himself.

They say that De Srive was a dreamer and a romantic. Looking at his work, you understand how useful it is to dream, and also to imagine and implement! The most important thing is to truly believe in what you are doing and where you are going.
