Preparation

Pickled onions for salads

The ingredients
  • 1 bulb
  • 5 tbsp 9% vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • pinch
  • 2 pepper-scented peas
  • 1 inflorescence of clove
  • 150 ml of water


Preparation
  1. Peel the onions and cut them with thin rings.
  2. Put the onion rings in a bowl and pour boiling water for 1 minute.
  3. Throw the onions on a sieve and drain the boiling water.
  4. Mix in a bowl until dissolved sugar, cold boiled water, salt and vinegar.
  5. Pour the onions with marinade and add the cloves with pepper. If you do not like cloves, add your favorite spices at your discretion.
  6. Leave to marinate for 40 minutes.
  7. The onions are crispy, sweet, without the smell and bitterness inherent in raw onions. It pleasantly shades the taste of mushrooms, meat and fish, and also serves as an integral part of many salads.


Onions in a hot marinade

The ingredients
  • 500g red onion
  • 250ml wine vinegar
  • 140g sugar


Preparation
  1. First thing, peel the vegetables. Of course, you can take white onions, it will not affect the taste. But with red onions, agree, the workpiece looks much more appetizing.
  2. Cut the bow with half rings and put it in a jar.
  3. Pour the vinegar into a separate pan, add the sugar and put it on the fire. You can add cloves, a few pepper peas or even bay leaf. Although without these spices, the marinade is excellent.
  4. Bring the marinade to a boil, and then pour them onions.
  5. Cool the jar to room temperature and put it in the refrigerator. Done!
  6. Such a workpiece will stand in the refrigerator for several weeks. A crispy dish will be a great addition to salads, they can feast on nature with kebabs or at home with herring or just bread. It's delicious anyway.


Onions in lemon marinade

Vinegar is often used in marinades and is a good preservative, but, unfortunately, not everyone benefits. Replace vinegar when marinating onions can be natural products with sufficient acidity, for example, lemon.

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 bulb
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 0.25 tables of water

Preparation
  1. Get the juice out of the lemon.
  2. Mix boiled water with salt, vegetable oil, sugar and lemon juice.
