How to prevent cheeky birds from eating berries this year

Eating berries from your site is especially pleasant. But when it comes time to harvest, we are unpleasantly surprised when we find that some of the berries have been stolen or spoiled by impudent birds. Therefore, owners who suffer from bird attacks every year should know, how to scare off birdsTo eat the berries yourself, not to look at empty branches.

To know how and how to scare off birds, you need to understand what they are afraid of. For example, Vladimir Korchagin in his book “Protection of the garden from pests and diseases” assures that almost all birds are afraid of objects of blue color, and do not tolerate the smell of onions.

Avoiding meeting with predators, birds are not inclined to take risks, and therefore they are afraid of moving objects. These features gardeners successfully use to discourage uninvited guests.

Vladimir Korchagin himself in the above book advises to hang trees with small flags (60 by 60 centimeters) of blue color. And you can use both blue matter and blue paper.

As another way, it is proposed to stretch the twine between the trees, on which the covers from cans are previously strung. Fortunately, the latter are often already equipped with tongues for opening, for which they are convenient to hang.

You can also use old digital drives that are no longer used on your computer. It is enough to string them on the same twine and hang them on protected trees. Birds will be afraid to go to your precinct.

You can ward off birds with the help of an unpleasant smell of onions. It is wiser to use this method when the berries are already ripe. Just hang longitudinally torn bow arrows on the branches. Here you can place halves of onion bulbs.

There are other ways. One of the most popular is to cover trees and bushes with a thin net. However, sometimes birds (the same thrushes) in some incredible way get under the net. You have to take it out and drive it away.

Someone uses the above methods, someone includes a recording of a hawk scream, and someone even takes up a gun. And although the latter method seems to us too radical and even inhuman, but there are gardeners who are ready for this for the sake of the harvest. What is the right method for your site? It can only be established by experience.
