But managed to collect 2 buckets of onions and 5-6 buckets of carrots, as well as a dozen cabbage heads. Not bad. Because of the hot summer, tomatoes are especially well grown. We managed to collect under 200 kg of tomatoes and somewhere near the centner of cucumbers. And the children were given, and prepared for months ahead.
We collected a little and Bulgarian pepper, and radish, and pumpkins, and zucchini, and beets. I managed to treat myself to even a couple of melons and watermelons from my own garden. There is no need to talk about all kinds of greenery. That's much better!
A good harvest was given last year and many years of planting, which require minimal maintenance. I enjoyed raspberries, strawberries, cherries, grapes. A young pear brought the first fruits, gathered almost a bucket. The winter apples were left for the winter. The summer varieties did not disappear, but went to the cellar in jars with seed and juice.
Is that profitable? I tried to calculate on a calculator what it would cost to buy everything, say, on the market. Even at the lowest prices, it turned out to be an impressive amount - three of my monthly salaries. Of course, who earns a lot, he does not need it. But there are significant savings for my family.
Yes, you have to work hard, all summer working on the site. The whole cellar is full of supplies. And I am completely confident in the environmental friendliness of all fruits and vegetables. We are happy to eat ourselves and give our children with a clear conscience. I can’t even think that I will leave my land and it will overgrown with weeds, says Veronica.
Today, many assure that working in the garden is unprofitable and pointless. But everyone makes their own choices. And if a person enjoys working on the site, and at the same time there is also a benefit in the form of a good harvest, then this can only be welcomed.
