Menu 1975, strictly adhered to by Japanese centenarians

Everyone knows that the most centenarians live in Japan. Needless to say, if today there are more than 80 thousand Japanese citizens who celebrated their 100th anniversary in the Land of the Rising Sun. One of the main causes of this phenomenon is considered Japanese.

Does the diet really affect life expectancy so much and increase the period of active longevity? These questions concern the minds of scientists around the world. And therefore, time after time, new studies appear that only bring humanity closer to the solution.

When it comes to traditional Japanese cuisine, it is difficult to make a clear list of dishes, because the menu of local residents is quite extensive. In addition, the Japanese diet has changed over time, as in any other country.

Therefore, an adjunct professor of doctoral studies in agriculture at Tohoku Tsuzuki Tsuyoshi University, who studies the functional features of food products, came up with the idea to study the nutrition of Japanese people of different times.

As a result, the researcher selected diets of 2005, 1990, 1975 and 1960. Initially, this food was fed to mice. Soon it was necessary to note that the health of rodents is changing for the better. And the best effect was among those individuals who were fed a diet of the 1975 sample. But how do these results apply to people?

Soon permission was obtained to conduct a similar experiment among volunteers. And first, people of 20-70 years of lush physique participated in the experiment. They were fed the well-established diets of 1975 and 1990. They were fed three times a day for 4 weeks. In addition to a significant improvement in well-being, the subjects managed to put their physical form in order.

Then the experiment was continued on young people 20-30 years of normal build. In addition to food, they had to devote at least an hour of physical activity 3 times a week.

The most obvious improvement in all cases was in people from the conditional group "1975". Japanese cuisine was the healthiest in 1975. And compared to modern Japanese food, it also benefits.

In addition, we can take into account that the current centenarians in 1975 just began to age. And it cannot be excluded that it was the right food at that time and became the key to their good health at a later stage of life.

The younger generation of Japanese today is not in the same good health. As for the percentage of various diseases, it is only growing. Rather, it proves that the diet and lifestyle of modern people is not as correct as it was in the 70s.

Japanese food in 1975 Why was the Japanese cuisine of the 70s so good and how was it different from modern? The first thing to note is the variety and small portions. At each meal, you had to taste three dishes: the main (fish or meat) and two vegetable snacks.

It is not surprising that foods that were boiled, steamed, or eaten raw prevailed. Frying and stewing were less popular methods of cooking. It is understandable, because at high cooking temperatures, the same fish became less useful at times.

Thanks to the competent use of seasonings (vinegar, soy sauce, miso paste), it was possible to reduce the addition of salt and sugar. It is worth noting the huge popularity of rice dishes and various soups.

As you can see, in the ration of the present Japanese centenarian enough rice, and seafood with fresh vegetables, and various sauces. Of course, these products are not available to everyone. However, it is quite possible to take the same principles of nutrition to make your daily diet more balanced and healthy. This effort is worth it.
