Solar Pines - urban structure relaxation, producing clean energy

Developed by HG-Architecture in Seoul area Solar Pines resembles the shape of the basis of the pinecone. Geometric "solar" roof of the gazebo tilted to absorb the optimum amount of sunlight and generate up to 1.2 kW per hour. In addition to the possibilities of electricity generation an attractive structure design makes it the perfect choice for green parks or town squares.

Nature-inspired geometric design is very effective. Solar panels fixed on the roof installation, which is made of prefabricated modules. The entire volume is supported with a special system composed of two intersecting arcs. This system eliminates the need for bulky vertical supports and allows natural light to penetrate into the structure. Modular installation requires little time for Assembly and allows efficient use of space, which is another benefit for local communities.

According to the architects, Solar Pines are designed to produce extremely efficient production of clean energy to local communities. "This project is a prototype for mass production, as well as an attempt to answer the potential demand for environmental structure using solar panels, as well as to create a new market due to the commercialization of this type of organic structure by incorporating design elements". published
