Electric cars are more efficient cars on hydrogen fuel
Researchers in the field of clean energy has concluded that electric cars are more economical way of dealing with carbon emissions than cars running on hydrogen fuel.
To compare the efficacy of electric cars and cars running on hydrogen fuel researchers from Stanford University and Munich technical University have applied the method of modeling: they had based the town of Los Altos hills, located on the southern tip of the Peninsula of San Francisco, and created a development model vehicles on clean energy in 2035.
In Los Altos hills, currently home to about eight thousand people. Scientists chose this city because of the fact that he "stands out for an unusually high potential for solar energy production" and also features the largest share of electric vehicles relative to all vehicles.
"We collected data on the number of electricity daily need of residents, as well as financial indices for the cost of creating new infrastructure [required for hydrogen cars and electric cars], says study co-author Matthew pillow. — We then told the computer model applied to our scenario for 2035, to give us the most cost-effective way to meet demands for electricity".
The results showed that the development of infrastructure for the development of electric vehicles and their use is the best way to deal with high level of carbon dioxide emissions. Scientists say that hydrogen cars can be competitive only if it is opened more than a cheap way to produce hydrogen fuel.
One of these ways this summer offered another group of scientists from Stanford University. Researchers have developed a photoelectric method of splitting water is: electrodes are placed in an aqueous environment and when they receive sunlight, they produce a current that breaks down water into hydrogen and oxygen.
P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
