Old cottages in Svyatoshino
The name of the center (center) associated with the Lutsk Prince from the dynasty of Chernigov Svyatoslav (the Christian name Pancrazio), which could not compete for the Chernihiv princely throne in the 12th century in the monastery of the caves he accepted monastic tonsure under the name of Nicholas. In the late 19th century wealthy people began to build cottages here and Svyatoshin turned into a holiday village. Here there were 20 streets and alleys, who were divided into 450 sections. The settlement had its own Bazaar. In 1901 came the electricity, which is evidence of the viability of the owners of cottages, and in 1911 there appeared a cinema. This institution is now — a cinema "the Screen" (near the metro station "Zhytomyrska").
Svyatoshinskyi of giving was very different from simple cottages to authentic palaces. Constructing the past worked quite famous Kiev architects, in particular Alexander Krivosheev and Alexander Hojnacki. But in the Soviet period, most of the old cottages have disappeared: some were destroyed by the Bolsheviks, the other was bombed by the Nazis. Now a really interesting country houses.
