Spooky chair-voyeur
All of us like it when artists create things we can use in everyday life and not only just to look at them and try to guess what the author wanted to say. For example, paintings: they look beautiful, when you look at them, but most of them will not do anything. At the same time on the chair to look at. It's a chair, so it can still sit.
This creepy chair called Scopohilia (scopophilia, she's a voyeur, she's the love of voyeurism), and is the creation of designer Fiona Roberts (Fiona Roberts). This work was made for exhibition of graduates of Academy Helpmann 2012 in Adelaide. The chair is made of red velvet and hundreds of plastic eyeballs, and as a work of art carries some sort of artist statement. As the author says, "too close to the eyes watching whole body, causing an unpleasant feeling of insecurity". We can assume that this kind of critique of how we live in the modern world of self-love and love for the show.
Whether it is possible to buy this chair worthy of the lead role in a horror movie, yet. And very few people probably come to mind to buy it for the sake of the piece of furniture, one of the guests on this will not stay long. But as an interesting exhibit it will come down. This appearance is ideal for chairs caretakers in museums: visitors won't take not intended for them, and the Rangers will not want a long time to sit around or even sleep instead of do his work, walking around the room. Obviously, even such an extraordinary subject is always possible to find a decent application, so we will wait for new work by this author, maybe she will bring us something equally unusual.
