Art transparent street signs

Cayetano Ferrer is based in Los Angeles, the video operator, photographer, sculptor and painter. Cayetano received his diploma from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MFA degree at the University of southern California in 2010. Two exhibitions in Los Angeles and one in Dusseldorf, Germany, its future looks quite bright.

In the gallery below foregrounds two remarkable project from Cayetano that transform street signs and cardboard boxes into fully-transparent objects that would cause any passerby to see them better. In his series called "Chicago" (2004-2006), Cayetano glued high quality photos, printed on labels and attached them to street signs. Photographing the trees, buildings and sky directly behind these signs, he was able to achieve an incredible transparency effect in the real world.

In the development of the theme of the city of Chicago Cayetano moved to Western Imports (2007-2008), where instead of a street sign of his cloth became a cardboard box. The results are truly amazing and make you stop and admire such works of art.
