In Germany, at the crossroads, set fun for pedestrians
Road crossroads can be considered not only as an element of the urban road and street network, but also as a source of social life of the city. In any case, so say the students of the German University of applied Sciences and arts (HAWK, a University of Applied Sciences and Arts), they offered to play an interesting game pedestrians that are waiting the green light.
While the red light, residents can enjoy a game of Streetpong is a simple game that resembles a regular hockey or tennis for ipad. All the joy that playing it as a random pedestrian that is waiting for the green on the opposite side of the street.
According to the authors of the project, thanks to this game people of different nationalities and ages will be actively communicate with each other. The game is an example of how you can create new social connections in the city and, thus, to infuse the city with life.
What began as an educational project, the idea proved so popular that eventually it sold in the crossroads of the city of Hildesheim, where is located the University. As a result, its people are now much more likely to communicate with each other, especially in times of transition streets.
