Huge underground water reserves discovered in the suffering from a perpetual drought Kenya

Of the 41 million people who live in Kenya, from 17 000 000 have no access to clean water. But today, the affected nation is a cause for celebration — experts reported the discovery of a massive underground aquifers, water in which is enough to supply the whole country. The researchers found the aquifer using satellite technology and confirmed the presence of water after exploration drilling.

Kenya suffers from uneven distribution of rainfall, exacerbated by climate change in the country, and the lack of natural water resources. An aquifer that is called Lоtikipi WAP Aquifer, contains a 900 per cent more water than Kenya currently has in his.

This water would be enough to supply the whole country as long as 70 years, but since the aquifer is filled with distant mountains, sustainable use means that the water can provide an unlimited supply for the country. The aquifer is 900 metres under the ground in the Northern part of Kenya and is close 2,500 square miles in size.
