During the experiment, they bought the iPhone, was pulled from the chip and connecting to the computer, compared the sensitivity of the sensor with professional seismological instruments. It turned out that the phone accelerometer will be enough to fix weak aftershocks with magnitude five and larger.



This will give the ability to use phones as nodes in global mobile seismicity", which will collect data on the seismic condition in cities in real time.
