Environmental office for Doncaster City Council

Architects from Cartwright Pickard Architects have built an office for Doncaster City Council, a small town in South Yorkshire, England. The modern five-story building is organized around an extensive central atrium that provides natural daylight and passive ventilation for all interior spaces. On its ground floor, residents of the city can use various public services, including a “one-window service”, and on the floors above there are office space for city administration employees. A lawn is laid out on the roof of the building, and a rainwater collection system is installed, which is used for technical needs. Thanks to these and other “green” strategies implemented in the project, the office complex received the highest rating “Excellent” according to the Method of Environmental Assessment of Building Performance (BREEAM).
