Lamps used in nail salons for drying nail Polish, can emit dangerous levels of radiation.
According to a new study, ultraviolet light from the lamp that accelerates the drying and hardening of nail Polish, can cause skin damage in just eight visits.
Such results were obtained in studies of 17 different UV lamps, which are conducted by scientists the University of Georgia. The study's author explained that the relative amount of ultraviolet radiation from such lamps is low. But, the researchers calculated that DNA damage can result if a woman visits a nail treatments from 8 to 14 times.
