The US army has created a universal charger

The US army finally got the analog of the "Vampire". However, weighing in at 2.5 kg.

Chargers finally got the upgrade from the military. The previous version of the charger that was used by the US military was the size of a suitcase and transported either in cars, or left lying on the table. The weight and dimensions of the device were such that hardly anyone wanted to take it with you on the battlefield or in a patrol RAID.

Now the military has managed to reduce the size of this critical unit to the size of the smaller Shoe boxes. Very imaginatively called "Universal charger" the new charger weighs 2.4 kgs. It can charge a whopping 8 batteries and as much as 2 USB devices at the same time, which is extremely useful for GPS systems, radio, and smartphones used by soldiers.

The charger itself draws energy from available sources of electricity. According to project engineer Mark Gitter, this list includes generators, fuel cells, solar panels, wind turbines, and an electric cigar lighter of the car.

And because soldiers are always close to available sources of energy, "Universal charger" comes with its own folding solar panel. In addition to this, the new charger is specially designed to work together with other army portable device generation of energy – RENEWS. Is a portable two 30-pound cases of wind turbine with additional solar panels that can feed 2-3 at the same time laptop. The combination of universal charger such a system adds flexibility and gives the soldiers access to energy even when they are very far from any available grid.
