Sonny the two-legged Chihuahua got a new set of wheels
Sonny (Sonny), the two-legged Chihuahua born without front legs, now moves with the new pair of wheels.
The wheelchair supports the front part of Sonny's body, allowing it to rotate when the dog move the hind legs.
Sonny and his sister Maddie, also born with only two legs, was taken recently after they were rejected. Kelly Stewart (Kelley Stewart), a resident of Muncie, who is caring for the dogs, took Sonny and Maddie.
Two Chihuahua learned to move by jumping, similar to those which are moved by a kangaroo, but there were nonetheless periodic drops animals. Stewart was concerned for the welfare of dogs, and was saving to buy a wheelchair for them.
"He's fine when on the grass, but I worry about him when he goes on the concrete," said Stewart.
The original story, which was also published by a local newspaper, attracted the attention of the woman in Florida who offered to buy a wheelchair for Sonny.
"It was really particular," said Stewart regarding the gift.
Wheel scared at first, Sonny, Stewart says, but the dog is diligent and swift learner. Video shot on Sonny, where is he on the third day of using the chair it is mastered and goes very quickly, though sometimes it still oversteer, and he leans to the side, so have to turn it back, as the weight of the stroller at times exceeds the weight of the miniature dogs.
"He still has a lot to learn in terms of maneuvering," said Stewart.
Stewart said that Maddie very soon, too, will get her wheelchair.
