Hydrogen sedan Toyota will appear sooner than expected

The production version of the hydrogen-powered Toyota FCV concept, shown in November last year at the Tokyo motor show, will appear in front of buyers ahead of schedule. This is reported by reporters from the Japanese newspaper The Japan Times.

Original date of start of industrial production of the first serial sedan of the brand in the hydrogen fuel cell (by the way, is still untitled), called the middle of 2015, but according to journalists manual Toyota ready to run the pipeline in December this year.

To release hydrogen sedan prepared and reconstructed the plant in Motomachi Japanese city of Aichi Prefecture. The planned capacity of the new pipeline will be 12 vehicles per day.

It is also worth noting that with the start of sales of Toyota will increase efforts to the development of hydrogen infrastructure, which is now even less developed than the infrastructure for electric vehicles.

The first hydrogen model will be available in Japanese market with a price tag of approximately 8 million yen, which is the equivalent of 2 million 700 thousand rubles. As in the case of early release, this figure was less than previously planned when it was called the price of 10 million yen. The representatives of the Corporation emphasize that by increasing the volume of sales of the new sedan and the presence of a stable demand for it, the price in 5 years down to 3-5 million yen.

Externally, the first production model fuel cell is unlikely to be strongly similar to the concept FCV – get too futuristic.

While the novelty is known only that to it will be a four-door car in the sedan with the powertrain issuing the output equivalent capacity of 134 HP and a cruising range on one filling will be about 500 kilometers.
