Trousers as a charger for the phone from Nokia
Nokia, in collaboration with British design firm A. Sauvage, invented trousers that are also wireless charging. To charge your phone, just put it in one of your pockets. The trousers are part of A. Sauvage’s new collection, which has been called Modern Man. What’s more modern than being able to charge your phone while walking in the park or on the way to work? These incredible technologies that you literally wear are made possible by Nokia’s induction charging and wireless charging surface, which has been integrated into the trouser fabric itself.
Nokia has been developing wireless charging devices for years and is now a manufacturer of the DC-50 wireless charging surface. Such a charging surface acts as an auxiliary battery that can be carried with you. To charge the phone, you just need to put it on such a plate. Recharges the battery of the charging surface is very simple – it needs to be connected to the computer through a USB port. Induction technology allows you to transfer energy from the plate to the phone.
Having dismantled such a charging plate, A. Sauvage sewed its parts into a pair of ordinary trousers. Just put your phone in one of your pants pockets and it will start charging. Of course, the wireless charger will run out of electricity at some point, so the trousers need to be connected to the grid periodically, but the whole concept is quite innovative.
This is not the first experience of a high-tech company with the fashion industry. We have previously partnered with Bruce Weber and David Bailey, and have also struck lucrative partnerships during New York and London Fashion Week, explains Adam Johnson, chief marketing officer for Microsoft Mobile. We are excited to work with a talented designer like A. Sauvage. After all, it is always nice to do something unusual, useful to humans and environmentally friendly.
