Canadian photographer and a passionate lover of old films, Christopher Moloney (Christopher Moloney) offers the general public an unusual series of photographs called “Filmography” (FILMography), from which we can find out the places where shots of famous films of different times were shot.

Christopher Moloney, having viewed many films shot in different periods of time and using a black and white printer, printed the most interesting and recognizable stop frames taken from these films. Then, having visited the place where the scene from the selected film was shot, and having accurately fixed the black and white picture printed on the printer, I compared it with all the elements of the landscape so that it was like a perfect continuation of the whole background. It is especially interesting to watch those photos in which stop frames are used, taken from films shot a long time ago, at the dawn of the opening of cinema. After all, the places where the shooting took place have changed over time, but still with the help of skillfully “inserted” black and white photography became recognizable by the preserved architecture of buildings and the surrounding landscape.

But there are also photos that are easy to recognize the place where these moments were shot from movies. And looking, mentally imagine the atmosphere in which the beloved and famous actors were filmed, remember their roles, phrases from dialogues.

Christopher Moloney’s project “Filmography” has existed for several years, and is constantly replenished with new and new photos. Christopher photographed in such large cities as New York, Rome and Ho Chi Minh. The photo project was a great success in galleries around the world and was shown as advertising at festivals such as Cannes and the film festival held on the island of Ischia in Italy.
