Compact energy-saving bulbs emit carcinogens

If you are one of those who in the pursuit of a clean environment and resource conservation have replaced their old incandescent bulbs for energy saving compact fluorescent lamps? If Yes, then beware. A study conducted by Peter brown from the German "Alab Laboratory revealed that these bulbs contain the dangerous carcinogens. Among them:

Phenol is slightly acidic toxic white powder, extracted from coal tar and used in chemical industry.

Naphthalene is a volatile white crystalline composition obtained by distillation of coal tar, which is used in moth balls and as a feedstock for the chemical industry.

Styrene – an unsaturated liquid hydrocarbon, obtained as a by-product of oil refining.

German scientists have issued an order, to keep these lights so far away from the human environment as possible". In the case of use, it is strongly recommended to use them only from time to time, in areas with good ventilation, and "definitely away from the human head", since these lamps generate electronic smog, which has serious effects on human health.

A German study confirms a disturbing observation Abraham Haim, Professor of biology at the University of Haifa, who found that the light emitted by energy-saving lamps, increases the likelihood of developing breast cancer in women because of the disruption of the natural production in the body of the hormone melatonin.

I must say, this poses a serious dilemma, for example, for Americans. According to the Act of 2007, signed by George Bush, the government banned the use of traditional 100-watt incandescent bulbs and ordered to replace their toxic energy saving 100-watt bulbs by January 1, 2012, and then 75-watt by January 2013 and 60 - and 40-watt bulbs by 2014. In that decision, the America supports Europe, which took the decision to abandon fuel-inefficient incandescent bulbs in 2009 and by 2016 plans to also ban halogen bulbs, forcing people to use compact energy-saving.

The fact that fluorescent lights are harmful to health, is not some new fact. It is well known that they contain toxic mercury – a neurotoxin that can damage the brain, liver, kidneys and Central nervous system. Lamp it is sold as "safe" only as long as the glass remains fully intact. The danger appears if the lamp is cracked, broken or improperly disposed, leading to leakage of toxic powder into the air. Just one fluorescent bulb contains enough mercury to contaminate 27 thousand liters of water and cause violation of motor functions, cognitive abilities and emotional stability.

Moreover, e-smog, energy saving lamps, connected with the development of migraines, sleep disorders, fatigue, and other health problems, and the flickering of fluorescent bulbs causes some sensitive people dizziness, headaches and weakness.
