Lamps are not the same! Due to which manufacturers have started to reduce the price of your lamp
I tested the lamp Navigator 2016 release and compared them with the old bulbs.
It turned out that in order to make the lamps cheaper, manufacturers have gone to significant simplification and degradation.
Early lamps Navigator was sold in the white boxes. The last batch of these lamps was made in January 2016 and is still found on sale. Now lamps are sold in yellow boxes. If you take the bulb in hand, you can feel how the bulbs from the yellow boxes easier.
"Candle" 5 watts of white boxes -47 grams, "Candle" 5 W of yellow box — 25 grams.
All the old Navigators had operating voltage range 176-264 volts, to a new specified 220-240 volts andthis is no accident.
Old used lamps IC driver, allowing the lamp to change the brightness in a wide range of voltages. In my tests, the lamp in a white box does not reduce the brightness by reducing the line voltage to 114 volts. In the new lamps installed cheap linear driver, and the lamp brightness is reduced by lowering the supply voltage. By reducing the voltage to 216 volts, the brightness drops by 10%.
This means that the new bulb should not be used where there is low voltage and where the voltage drops, the light will dim and blink. The old lamp under the same conditions consistently burn at maximum brightness and the light does not flicker when the voltage drops.
Another side effect of the linear drivers — if the lights are connected through the switch with the indicator lamp will glow weakly when the switch is off.
Most lamps Navigator in the white boxes ripple is less than 5%, almost all lamps in the yellow box ripple around 25%. Is almost imperceptible by eye, but talking about a lower quality of light the new bulbs.
In the new lamps saved on the driver and, judging by the weight on the radiator, but the led's were good —the color rendition index of all lamps, except G4/G9, 80.
In the new light bulbs Wolta saved on the LEDs.
Early bulbs Wolta was sold in transparent plastic boxes. Almost all of these lamps is the color rendering index (CRI) was more than 83, now the lamps are sold in cartons, which honestly says that CRI is only 75.
The driver in the new light bulbs Wolta remained fully IC and even on the box and written operating voltage range 220-240V, lamp can work without reducing the brightness at much lower voltages. Ripple almost all new lamps does not exceed 1%.
Over the last year led bulbs has fallen substantially and, unfortunately, it is not only the cost of technologies and components, but also to the fact that manufacturers have started to reduce the price of your lamp, setting them in a more simple drivers, using the worst quality and characteristics of LEDs and other components, as well as reducing the cooling radiators. published
