Carbon-free heat pumps for the UK
UK energy Minister ed Davey is planning to convince his countrymen of the benefits of the use of carbon-free heat pumps, allowing you to use the energy of rivers, to heat water for showers and radiators. Using this technology can be heated for about one million homes across the country.
In Britain has more than 4000 channels, estuaries, rivers, and all of them can be used to heat homes. Installation of the heat pump not only reduces the need for gas heating, but also helps in reducing carbon footprint. The result is a clean and renewable energy can give the family a 20-percent savings on heating bills.
Water pumps were invented in the 19th century and contented popular in Scandinavia, where, as a rule, are used for heating of private homes. For this purpose the system of pipes, usually located a few feet below the water surface in the canals and rivers, where the temperature is about 8-10°C. these tubes are filled with a solution of water and antifreeze, which is heated up by the warmer water outside of the pipe and pumped into the house. The refrigerant then evaporates and the gas formed when it is compressed, increases its temperature. Finally, the hot gas passes through the heat exchanger, which extracts heat and transfers it to the radiator.published
