In India launched a train using solar energy

The Indian authorities, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are actively working on the introduction of green energy. For India, this is beneficial – the country located near the equator receives about 300 sunny days a year. One of the first initiatives is the use of solar panels on the roofs of trains.
We are already familiar with airplanes, ships and cars that use solar panels. Now it's time for the trains. India’s science minister, Harsh Vardhan, explained that the idea was born when he learned about the Solar Impulse project.

Now the panels are able to provide about 15% of the total energy required for the movement of the product composition. But during stops, the train will give the energy received from the sun to the electric grid, turning into a mobile power station. In addition, the placement of panels on a moving object will lead to the fact that they will settle a minimum of dust.

If successful, the Indian government plans to transfer this experience to passenger trains. In general, the program of the government of India suggests that by 2022 the amount of energy received from the sun should increase fivefold. India’s most important project is the 800 megawatt solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh. The world’s largest solar power plant will start operating next year.

P.S. And remember, just by changing your consciousness – together we change the world!
