Electropure will appear on the roads of Sweden
If about new developments in eco-friendly roads, electric cars and electric buses, we hear, electropure remained until recently for us, "unknown land". But science and industry do not stand still. And now, in the province of gävleborg County in Sweden began building an experimental electrified highways, designed for freight transport. Estimated project cost – 80 million SEK (€ 9,44 million).
It is expected that the construction of a road length of 2 kilometers on the stretch of highway E16 will be completed in April 2016. This highway will be one of the first in Europe expensive, designed for freight electric vehicles (electrophor). Lab tests for this project are still ongoing and conducted on a closed test track in Berlin (Germany).
The goal for the new site in Sweden, running the innovative technologies in the conditions of natural climate and real traffic (traffic). It is planned that two electropure with current collectors on the roof will go on this site Swedish roads for two years.
In this project invested not only the state authorities in Sweden (the Transport service, Energy Agency of innovation), but also private companies "Siemens" and "Scania", whose technology is mainly and will be tested. The researchers expect to be able to get enough information for a full-scale launch of commercial operation of the specified development.
Note that in August 2014 in the United States on the road between the port of Los Angeles and long beach have already upgraded thirty kilometre (30 km) stretch of highway, adapting it to the movement of freight transport. The project, dubbed "e-highway", was developed with the participation of companies "Volvo Group" and "Siemens".
Electropure from Volvo and Siemens is equipped with a hybrid powertrain – an internal combustion engine on the conventional fuel (diesel or liquefied hydrocarbons) and an electric motor. The car also features a regenerative braking system for extra battery charge.
Connection to power transmission lines (PTL) through pantographia rod current collectors which technical conditions it is possible to connect and disconnect from the power lines at the speed of 90 km/h. the design of the trolley also allows the driver to maneuver electropura on the road in a relatively wide range (several bands) without interrupting the power supply. Many users will immediately notice the similarities presented electropura (see illustration) with a normal city bus.
Testing of the technology "e-highway" in August 2014 in the United States:
The main advantages of the "e-highway", which emphasize what the representatives of the company "Siemens" are the environmental component and reduce local emissions from heavy duty trucks to almost zero.
This is especially true for the special short sections of roads between industrial facilities, as, for example, described the road in California between the port of Los Angeles and warehouses in long beach, on which there are daily over 35,000 trucks. Exhaust fumes from the freight transport are one of the sources of smog observed periodically in the region. published
