Traditional English cake for tea! The original recipe is cherry, but you can use cherries.

INGREDIENTS

 

For the top:

  • 2 tbsp milk
  • sugar – 2 tbsp
  • butter – 2 tbsp
For the filling:

  • small sugar – 1 Cup
  • 1 kg unsweetened cherries
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
For the dough:

  • salt – 0.5 tsp.
  • a little vegetable oil for greasing the pan
  • 2.5 cups of flour
  • butter – 150 g
  • 5-7 tbsp ice water
 

HOW TO COOK

Step 1

Sift flour with salt. Add the cooled and chopped into small pieces butter. RUB the flour with butter until it forms large crumbs.

Step 2

Knead, adding 1 tbsp of ice water until the dough becomes smooth. Gather the dough into a ball, divide in half.

Step 3

Each half of the dough to knead into a cake, wrap in plastic wrap and put in refrigerator for at least 30 min.

Step 4

Cherry wash, remove bones. Mix with sugar and starch.

Step 5
